The Galaxy S26 Ultra is rumored to have a bulky build and camera downgrades.

Samsung’s next flagship is already in the production stage, and early leaks hint at some major changes. According to new reports, the device appears to be slightly thicker than its predecessors. Leaked images suggest a body thickness of 7.9 mm, along with a 4.5 mm camera bump, making the phone noticeably bulkier overall.

A popular tipster, Ice Universe, has revealed the upcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra camera bump increased up to 4.5 mm for upgraded telephoto and large-aperture lenses in the rear setup. Also, in the recent leak, it claimed the Galaxy S26 Ultra will continue using the same 1/2.52″ 0.7μm 50 MP sensor for the telephoto camera as we have seen in the S24 Ultra and S25 Ultra.

Today, a new post expresses frustration that the upcoming Galaxy S24 Ultra will continue to use the 12MP default camera, despite experts expecting a 24MP upgrade. It’s true that Chinese smartphone makers have already started using 1-inch sensors and 24MP default cameras, which allow faster capturing. However, Samsung continues to push the same camera setup, branding it as an improved version.

Apple recently wrapped up its ‘Awe Dropping’ event, unveiling new smartwatches, AirPods, and the highly anticipated iPhone 17 series, along with the iPhone Air. The company also showcased upgrades to its camera system. Meanwhile, Samsung has already started poking fun at the iPhone’s camera with memes.

The truth is, Samsung is hiding their defeats in the camera sector; they are still relying on the standard machine while polishing it with a new body and AI features. Everybody was expecting the major upgrades in the upcoming Galaxy S26 series, especially in the camera sectors.

However, the details of the other two cameras are still under wraps, and Samsung might be better off focusing on improving quality rather than making memes about iPhones. For comparison, the Galaxy S25 Edge is Samsung’s slimmest phone at 2.98 inches thick, while the newly launched iPhone Air measures just 5.5 to 5.6 mm. That’s insanely thin, especially considering it houses a 2,800 mAh battery and a powerful 48MP Fusion camera.

However, netizens are still waiting for the other camera details and hoping for a reliable upgrade this time for the Galaxy S26 series. Stay stitched with us for the latest update.
