Samsung Rumored to Keep “Plus” Model, Skip Edge Variant for Galaxy S26

Despite many rumors about Samsung’s Plus model, reports suggest that Samsung will continue to rely on the Plus variant rather than the newly introduced Edge variant. Last year, Samsung introduced a new model in their flagship S-Series—the Galaxy S25 Edge—alongside the regular Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, S25 Ultra, and the Galaxy S25 FE (Fan Edition).

The new Galaxy S25 Edge was the slimmest phone from Samsung’s flagship S-series, packed with a new machine and flagship components, but it still can’t attract more users like the Plus model done from ages ago.

For several years, the biggest tech giants have been racing to build the slimmest phone, often neglecting crucial features in the process. Apple, the closest rival to Samsung, also launched its slimmest phone in the recently launched iPhone 17 Series: the iPhone Air, which is only 5.6 mm thick which succss to attract apple fans and generated good sales as compared to Samsung’s S25 Edge.

However, new rumors are circulating online, suggesting Samsung will still include the Plus model in the Galaxy S26 Series, despite expectations from netizens that the company would discontinue the Plus model in the next launch and instead focus on the Edge variants.

Jason, a tech commentator, echoed this sentiment. According to him, Samsung invested significant effort in developing the Edge Model—adding new features, making it the slimmest phone ever, and installing new hardware—despite consumers still purchasing the Pro and Ultra models more frequently.

Samsung Galaxy S26 Series Rumors

The Plus Model in is still a heart of Samsung’s flagship model, and I believe Samsung will not discontinue the Plus Model in upcoming Galaxy S26 Series.

Coming to the much-awaited Galaxy S26 Series, a report from South Korea’s ETNews from the Samsung’s home country, suggests a significant lineup change. Samsung is reportedly planning to replace the Plus model with the Edge model, meaning you may not see a “Plus” model in the next launch anymore.
