Say goodbye to FunTouch OS as the new OriginOS 6 enters the international market. The most awaited Vivo X300 and iQOO 15 will likely launch with the OriginOS 6 update, featuring major improvements focused on user comfort, while other tech giants race ahead in AI and customization.
Finally, the OriginOS 6 Preview Program is open for international users, allowing them to enroll and gain early access to test the new features. Vivo has made a significant move in software by switching from the popular FunTouch OS to OriginOS. For the India territory, the Preview Program will start on 29th September, Vivo India has officially announced.
FunTouch OS has been a popular UI for international users from China, but due to its lack of new features and limited customization and AI integration, the company decided to switch to another highly loved Chinese UI, OriginOS.
The company is currently testing OriginOS 6, and its preview (beta) program is now open to global users. Eligible Vivo and iQOO users can enroll to access all upcoming features in the OriginOS update, as revealed by popular tipster Abhishek Yadav.
For confirmation, the official FunTouch OS Twitter handle has been renamed to OriginOS, strongly indicating that Indian Vivo and iQOO users will switch to the OriginOS UI in the new update.

Why OriginOS 6?
Global users are now confused about why OriginOS 6 is replacing FunTouch OS, which remains one of the most loved and stable UIs. As major tech giants move toward next-gen features such as AI integration, AI assistants, and advanced customization, FunTouch OS struggles to support these features, while China’s OriginOS delivers a more comfortable and seamless performance.
Vivo and iQOO aim to provide a unified, superior user experience with a single UI for both domestic and global users. Chinese users mostly prefer OriginOS for its comfortable and smooth performance, efficient multitasking, and the latest system improvements.
First Device to Get OriginOS 6
According to rumors, the Vivo X300 series will be the first to receive the OriginOS 6 update, with the iQOO 15 also in line for the upgrade. Both devices are expected to come with the update out of the box.
The OriginOS 6 launch is scheduled for October 10, 2025, in China, while the international launch has yet to be confirmed.
OriginOS 6 Upcoming Features
In terms of improvements and upcoming features in OriginOS 6, the company has emphasized a design philosophy focused on comfort rather than the latest features.
The major changes in the update include enhanced customization features with a transparent design, a dynamic digital clock component with ambient lighting for a layered 3D effect, and customizable lock screen wallpapers and widgets.
This may resemble iOS 16’s Liquid Glass feature, but the company promises a more comfortable experience with easy access to features and settings.
