Meizu 22 Series Launching This Week: 1.5K Flat Display and 66W Wireless Charging Rumored

In China’s flagship phone race, the Meizu 22 stands alongside many top-tier smartphones. Packed with innovations, it is expected to feature blazing-fast 66W wireless charging and a 1.5K flat display.

The Meizu 22 is expected to launch in the upper mid-range segment. Last year, the Meizu 21 featured a design quite similar to the Galaxy S26, not only in appearance but also in specifications, offering a 200MP primary rear camera, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 (4nm) chipset, UFS 4.0 storage, a 4800mAh battery, and up to 80W fast charging support.

These features were available in the Galaxy S25 Ultra, which cost more than 10,199 yuan, while the Meizu 21 was regularly priced at only 2,999 yuan in China. There are so many differences in the price with the same kind of flagship features.

Once again, the upcoming Meizu 22 is expected to follow the same standard design as the Meizu 21. However, this time the primary camera is likely to be downgraded to 50MP, while the other two cameras will be upgraded to 50MP each—meaning the Meizu 22 could feature a triple 50-megapixel camera setup.

In terms of display, the phone is anticipated to come with a 6.3-inch AMOLED flat display that will support the Hz screen refresh rate and ultrasonic fingerprint scanner at the same radius as the Meizu 21 has.

Furthermore, the phone may feature a punch-hole cutout with functionality similar to Apple’s iconic Dynamic Island, providing dynamic notifications for messages, music, battery status, and more. The device will run on the Flyme AIOS operating system.

Leaks suggest that the phone will support 66W wireless charging, 80W wired charging, and 5000 mAh battery life.

In terms of memory, the Meizu 22 appears to follow its predecessor, as similar variants are rumored to be available—8GB/12GB RAM and 128GB/256GB/512GB storage options. The meizu is challenging other international brands in terms of performance over budget; however, the phone is looking to avoid launching in big international markets like India and the Middle East, etc.
