Apple’s biggest day is just a few hours away, and fresh leaks about the highly anticipated iPhone 17 Series have surfaced online—including the debut of a new model, the iPhone 17 Air.
Apple has revealed that this year’s major event, the “Awe Dropping,” will take place on September 9, 2025, at 10:00 AM Pacific Time. MacRumors, the biggest Apple news channel, has also revealed some unexpected leaks about the iPhone 17 Series.
According to sources, the iPhone 17 base model will feature a larger 6.3-inch display, up from 5.81 inches on its predecessor, and is expected to introduce a high refresh rate screen for the first time in the standard model.
The newest addition to the lineup, the iPhone 17 Air, is said to feature an ultra-thin, lightweight design measuring just 5.1 mm thick. Sources also revealed the Air model will get a 6.6-inch promotion display with a titanium-aluminum frame. The iPhone 17 Air is expected to have a 48 MP rear camera along with a 3000 mAh battery, an advanced Bionic A19 chip, and up to 12 GB of onboard RAM.
The iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max are both alleged to have a major camera upgrade this time with physical changes in the camera island on the back. The leaked images show that the top-back panel is rectangular in shape and extends from left to right.
Source stats: the iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max will have a 48MP telephoto camera with an 8MP optical zoom feature and video recording at an 8K resolution. Not only that, but for the first time, the Apple Pro Max model is to get a battery with more than 5000 mAh capacity. The iPhone 17 Pro Max is alleged to have a 5088 mAh battery and support QI wireless charging as well.
In terms of pricing, the iPhone 17 is expected to start at $799 for the base model. The iPhone 17 Pro may be priced at $1,199, while the iPhone 17 Pro Max could start at $1,299. The new iPhone 17 Air is also expected to launch at $1,099 for the 256GB variant
For the availability, the phone will be available to preorder from 12 September at 5 a.m. Pacific Time, while the sale will start on 19 September, as Livemint published.
