According to a well-known Chinese tipster, the lineup will include two models — the Redmi Turbo 5 and the Redmi Turbo 5 Pro — powered by the Dimensity 8500 and Dimensity 9500e chipsets, respectively. Interestingly, both processors have yet to be officially launched.

Despite these trends, Xiaomi appears to be focusing on performance by opting for high-end MediaTek processors. The Dimensity 8500 is rumored to feature a primary core clocked at 3.4GHz, while the Dimensity 9500e is said to offer an even higher primary clock speed of 3.73GHz.

According to a GSMArena report, the Redmi Turbo 5 series could launch in early 2026, possibly in January. The new year is expected to bring several smartphone launches, with some brands focusing on large cooling fans and others introducing big 1-inch camera sensors.

Redmi Turbo 5 Series Specifications

The Redmi Turbo 5 lineup was previously rumored to feature a 6.6-inch display with 1.5K resolution, a metal frame, an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, and a 7,500mAh battery on the standard Turbo 5 model.

Meanwhile, the Turbo 5 Pro is said to feature a massive 9,000mAh battery with support for 100W wired charging. The leak also suggests that the device will come with a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner and an LTPS OLED display with 1.5K resolution.

Additionally, tech publication XiaomiTime has reportedly spotted the model number 2606FRT34I linked to the upcoming Redmi Turbo 5 series.

Is Xiaomi focused on Hardcore gaming?

This raises an important question, as the iQOO 15 Ultra is also expected to launch in early 2026 and is said to focus heavily on gaming. The device is tipped to feature a large active cooling fan to maintain performance during long gaming sessions.

In comparison, the Redmi Turbo 5 series appears to take a different approach, relying on the Dimensity 8500 and 9500e chipsets with reportedly high clock speeds, which suggests a strong focus on hardcore gaming and multitasking performance.
